Ben & Jerry’s co-founder slams NATO for Russia-Ukraine battle: ‘Ultimately, cash gained’

Ben Cohen, co-founder of the proudly political Ben & Jerry’s ice cream company, voiced his disdain for US and NATO involvement in Ukraine throughout a current interview.

Cohen, in an interview with Politico revealed Thursday, expressed frustration with NATO expansionism and the “military-industrial-congressional complicated” as aggravating elements within the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

“Ultimately, cash gained,” Cohen advised Politico. “And at the moment, not solely are they offering weapons to all the brand new NATO international locations, however they’re offering weapons to Ukraine.”

“I’m not supporting Russia, I’m not supporting Ukraine,” he added. “I’m supporting negotiations to finish the struggle as an alternative of offering extra weapons to proceed the struggle.” 

Cohen, who grew up amid Chilly Warfare tensions and ill-fated US involvement in Vietnam, attributes listening to the 1963 music “Masters of Warfare” by iconic singer-songwriter Bob Dylan as an awakening second.

The ice cream mogul, who not maintains any management over his namesake dessert brand, has not allowed ageing to decelerate his dedication to political protest and activism.

Cohen was arrested earlier this month by Division of Homeland Safety police for blocking the doorway to the Department of Justice constructing in Washington, D.C., the place he was protesting the detainment of Julian Assange.

Assange is imprisoned at Belmarsh Jail in London and should quickly be extradited to the US.

Photographs from the scene confirmed Cohen sitting subsequent to a girl holding a “Free Assange” signal as police and safety personnel stood close by. 

Later pictures posted by The Related Press confirmed Cohen being led away in handcuffs by DHS officers.
