STEUBEN, Maine (AP) — Authorities have suspended the seek for a lacking 18-year-old Down East Maine lobsterman whose unoccupied boat was discovered adrift.

The Coast Guard stated in a tweet Sunday afternoon that the seek for Tylar Michaud, of Steuben, which concerned vessels and plane, was suspended after 40 hours “pending additional developments.”

Michaud was reported lacking at 5 p.m. Friday when he didn’t return from a day of hauling and setting his traps close to Petit Manan Level, the state Division of Marine Sources stated in a press release. Petit Manan Level is about 15 miles (24 kilometers) east of Mount Desert Island.
