Jingle Bell flop.
“Mean Girls” star Angourie Rice has found herself on the wrong side of “theater kids” everywhere after one vengeful TikToker slammed her singing in the brand-new “Mean Girls” movie musical.
In a video posted on Monday, a TikToker named Alison compared Rice’s vocal portrayal of Cady Heron to Erika Henningsen, who portrayed the high schooler during the show’s two-year run on Broadway.
Alison’s video, which has gained nearly 754,000 views since being uploaded, features snippets from the song “Revenge Party” which showcase the difference between Rice, 23, and Henningsen, 31.
“This is the reason all theatre kids are appalled,” Alison states in the in-video text while she lip-syncs to both actresses’ versions of the song.
“Why would u make a musical if the singing is gonna sound like poorly autotuned doodoo,” she slams in the video’s caption.
The Post reached out to both Rice and Hennungsen for comment.
Several other users agreed with Alison’s remarks.
“WHEN ANGOURIE RICE SAYS SNAKE EAT A COW, IT SOUNDS LIKE AN AI SANG IT,” one user noted unapologetically in the video’s comment section.
“I get them wanting to tone it down bc usually movie musicals aren’t as animated as stage musicals but it’s like she was sedated,” a second user said.
“It’s giving nervous audition vs show night. ya know,” a third user stated referring to the two versions.
“SHE DOESNT HAVE THE BROADWAY EMOTION AND ITS IRKS ME,” one extremely bothered fan said while a fourth person reiterated the claim that “It sounds like ai.”
The film also stars Auli’i Cravalho, Jaquel Spivey, Avantika, Bebe Wood, Christopher Briney, Jenna Fischer, Meadows, Jon Hamm, as well as “Mean Girls” musical alums Ashely Park and Reneé Rapp.
Tina Fey, who wrote the screenplay for the original film, also reprised her role as Ms. Norbury. Fellow “Saturday Night Live” alum Tim Meadows returned as Principal Duval as well.
Shortly after the film’s January release, several die-hard fans criticized the movie musical for not making it known that it was a musical.
Lindsay Lohan, who starred as Heron in the 2004 adaptation, also took issue with the film after a scene in the film referred to a “fire crotch.”
Lohan’s dislike of the word stems from a 2006 video in which Brandon Davis referred to Lohan, 41, as a “fire crotch.”
“Lindsay was very hurt and disappointed by the reference in the film,” the “Parent Trap” alum’s rep said in a statement on Monday.
A source close to the actress told the Messenger that Lohan was “surprised and taken aback” when she first heard the reference at the New York City premiere of the movie.
