Angel Reese gets support from fan in letter, drawing amid LSU drama: ‘Please come back’

Angel Reese has at least one fan in her corner.

Amid all the drama surrounding the college basketball superstar, the LSU junior shared on her Instagram Story Wednesday a note and drawing she received from a fan.

“Dear Angel I’m your biggest fan please come back to the games,” the note read.

“I love my neighbors,” Reese wrote in a caption over the image.

Reese, 21, has been at the center of turmoil for the Lady Tigers, first getting benched in a game last week before not at all suiting up for the next two games.

LSU coach Kim Mulkey has addressed the situation but has not directly answered why Reese has not been part of the lineup.

On Monday, when a reporter pressed the head coach about why Reese wasn’t in the lineup for a second straight game or if she’d be joining the team for the upcoming Cayman Islands Classic, Mulkey pushed back on the line of questioning.

Angel Reese shares the support from a fan.

“If I had I wouldn’t tell you. You’re not entitled to that information,” she said to a reporter during her Monday press conference.

“So I’ll say it again, Angel was not in uniform tonight. Angel is a part of this basketball team and Angel will be back sooner than later.”

Reese, statistically, had gotten off to a strong start to the year, averaging a double-double per night with 17 points and 10.3 rebounds for LSU.

But her 22.3 minutes a game are significantly down from the 33.6 she played last year during LSU’s run to the national title.

On Sunday, one day after she posted a picture of an LSU practice court on her Instagram Story, she seemed to call out the speculation over why she’s missed time.

“please don’t believe everything you read,” Reese wrote on X.

Also on Sunday, Reese shared the words of Colorado football coach Deion Sanders.

“Look at me,” Sanders said in the video, which took place during a press conference in Colorado in August. “What about me would make you think that I care about your opinion of me.

“Your opinion of me is not the opinion that I have of myself. You ain’t make me so you can’t break me. You didn’t build me so you can’t kill me.

“You know what, God established me, so there ain’t nothing you can do to me.”

No. 7 LSU next plays on Friday against Niagara and then again on Saturday against Virginia, but it’s still unclear if Reese will be in the lineup for either game.
