The former girlfriend of beloved soap star Alec Musser, who reportedly died by suicide on Jan. 12, is paying tribute to the late actor. He was 50.
Lacy Faddoul told the Daily Mail that she would remember her close friend for his “unwavering spirit of fun and adventure for life.”
Musser, best known for his roles on “All My Children” and the hit ABC series “Desperate Housewives,” died at his home in Del Mar, California. His fiancée, Paige Press, later discovered his body.
Faddoul, who appeared on season 18 of the “Bachelor” and the first season of “Bachelor in Paradise” explained that Musser’s death had been “devastating.”
The former couple dated for three years but remained close friends after they called it quits in 2014.
“We spoke monthly to check in with each other’s lives,” she stated. “This has been devastating for me, my heart is in a million pieces.”
“We met at La B’eurge in Del Mar in 2011. Alec was my first love, who turned into my forever friend,” she added. “Last I saw him was at my vacation home in La Quinta, California. We played tennis and rode the golf cart around La Quinta.”
Faddoul shared that some of her favorite memories with Musser included their passion for sports and sharing a competitive spirit.
“Alec was born with a pair of skis in one hand and a surfboard in the other. He had a spirit that was competitive in the most jubilant ways.”
“I’m one of the many he taught to ski,” she added. “As he was giving instruction on how to pizza, I was already halfway down the mountain headed straight for a tree. After my tumble in the snow, he smirked his smile and said, ‘Well hun, you had to stop some how.’”
They also shared a passion for pizza. “I would have much rather been eating one of our favorites together, a slice of pizza and a root beer. He took such pride in eating healthy. Though he was a cookie monster, he always made the best healthiest meals to share.”
Faddoul added: ‘I will never forget his need for speed moto track days, our rides through Rancho Santa Fe, our days at the ranch, our Mexico trip with uncle Ricky, and above all else, our countless sunset walks with the love of his life, his dog Calle.”
“I admire his passion, his determination, simpleness, and above all else, his unwavering spirit of fun and adventure for life,” she concluded. “Thank you for teaching me what it feels like to be treated so well in a relationship. I will love you forever, and you will forever shine through the sunsets.”
Musser was engaged to Press at the time of his death. The pair became engaged last year after more than six years of dating.
“My heart is so broken … Today is the worst day of my life. We were so happy,” Press wrote on Instagram after his tragic death. “I am never taking off my ring.”
Musser, who had a prior career as a fitness model, was catapulted into fame for his role as Del Henry in “All My Children” at the age of 31. The actor appeared in 43 episodes of the long-running soap opera between 2005 and 2007.
The soap star, who won the second season of the SOAPnet original series “I Wanna Be a Soap Star” in 2005, also appeared in the 2010 movie “Grown-ups,” written by Adam Sandler.
Sandler also paid tribute to his former costar on Instagram.
“I loved this guy,” Sandler wrote along with a clip of the film featuring Musser. “Cannot believe he is gone. Such a wonderful, funny good man. Thinking of Alec Musser and his family and sending all my love. A true great sweetheart of a person.”
