Actress Casey Kramer, daughter of Stanley Kramer, dead at 67

Actress Casey Kramer, daughter of Oscar-nominated film director Stanley Kramer, has died. She was 67.

Her family did not disclose the cause of death, according to Variety

She passed away in her Chicago home. 

Her father Stanely Kramer, who died in 2001, was known for directing films such as “The Defiant Ones,” the iconic 1967 film “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” starring Sidney Poitier, Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn, and “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.”

Born in L.A. to Stanley and his second wife, the late writer and film executive Anne Pearce, Casey made her acting debut in her father’s 1979 movie, “The Runner Stumbles,” starring Dick Van Dyke. 

She also made appearances in “Behind The Candelabra,” “A Rose For Emily,” “Mississippi Requiem” and “Darkness in Tenement 45.”

On TV, she appeared in a wide range of shows, such as “Falcon Crest,” “General Hospital,” “The Young and the Restless,” “Criminal Minds,” “Southland,” “Baskets” and “Transparent.”

Her brother Lawrence died in 2010. 

She’s survived by her sisters, actress/producer Katharine Kramer and actress/filmmaker  Jennifer Kramer, and her stepmother, actress/producer Karen Sharpe-Kramer.
