A.J. Hawk tells Aaron Rodgers ‘shoot your shot’ with Britney Spears

Travis Kelce used his podcast to discuss his early attempts to woo Taylor Swift, but Aaron Rodgers didn’t seem too interested in doing similar things when Pat McAfee offered his show up for the Jets quarterback to try and court Britney Spears.

On Tuesday, Rodgers made his weekly appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show,” and was discussing the motivating speech he gave the Jets, which included some of Spears’ dance moves.

After revealing that, Rodgers’ former teammate — and current member of the show — A.J. Hawk had an idea.

“She’s divorced. You should shoot your shot. It’s a big thing to have a high-profile celebrity relationship,” Hawk suggested.

McAfee quickly jumped in to add, “’Yeah! And Travis did it on the ‘New Heights’ pod, remember? The floor is yours!”

However, Rodgers, who makes seven figures per year for his appearances on McAfee’s show, didn’t seem too keen on the idea.

“Listen, I’m really focused on my rehab right now,” Rodgers responded, eliciting laughter from McAfee and Hawk.

Kelce’s rumored relationship with music superstar Taylor Swift has brought an influx of attention to the NFL.

Her appearances at three of Kelce’s last four games have become headline-making news, which the league has not been afraid to steer into, including at one point changing the league’s official Instagram bio to: “chiefs are 2-0 as swifties.”

In New York, Jets fans are likely plenty happy to hear Rodgers prefers to stay focused on his rehab since they’re hoping he finds a way to return to the field at some point this season.

He provided some more hope during his appearance on the show when he said that he was “way ahead of schedule” in his recovery from a torn Achilles.

Rodgers did try to temper expectations a little bit by acknowledging he had several hurdles to get over before making a comeback this year a reality.

“Another marker’s going to be jogging,” Rodgers said. “And then another marker is going to be going through a pregame workout probably and get on the practice field.

“All these are going to take time. It’s not just going to be: boom, boom, boom, boom. … These are all progressions that take time. But obviously, we’re ahead of schedule.”
