Emails allege Texas patrol have been instructed to push migrants into Rio Grande

Texas border management insurance policies are being heavily criticized after a state trooper mentioned workers have been instructed to push migrants “again into the water” of the Rio Grande after they attain the American facet of the river as a part of Gov. Greg Abbott’s border security initiative.

The criticisms come after stories have been published late Monday by Hearst Newspapers quoting an e-mail despatched by one trooper from the Texas Division of Public Security and backed up by one other that migrants’ lives have been being put at risk by Abbott’s Operation Lone Star.

In response to a January press launch, Operation Lone Star has “led to over 340,000 unlawful immigrant apprehensions and greater than 23,000 legal arrests, with greater than 21,000 felony prices reported” for the reason that program’s begin in March 2021.
