Russia’s FSB Says It Foiled Ukrainian Plan to Assault Airfield
(Reuters) – Russian safety forces have foiled an try by Ukrainian intelligence to assault a army airfield in central Russia with drones filled with explosives, the Federal Safety Service (FSB) mentioned on Sunday.
The FSB mentioned in an announcement on its web site that the goal of the assault was an A-50 radar detection aircraft on the Severnyy aerodrome within the Ivanovo area, some 700 km (435 miles) from the Ukrainian border. It mentioned its brokers had foiled the assault in collaboration with the inside ministry.
The pilot of a light-weight plane and different members of what the FSB referred to as a “sabotage group” had been detained in Tula area after flying in from Ukraine, the assertion mentioned.
Reuters was not in a position to independently confirm the FSB’s account.
Since invading Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022, Moscow has repeatedly accused Kyiv of utilizing drones to focus on Russian power, logistics and army amenities.

Ukraine has denied being concerned in assaults inside Russia, blaming them on Russian anti-government partisans or “false flag” operations orchestrated by Moscow itself.
