San Diego County Supervisor to Resign After Assault Lawsuit


SAN DIEGO (AP) — San Diego County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher introduced he’ll resign days after being sued for alleged sexual harassment and assault, and ending his state Senate marketing campaign to hunt therapy for post-traumatic stress dysfunction and alcohol abuse.

“I shall be resigning from the Board of Supervisors, efficient on the finish of my medical depart,” Fletcher stated in a statement late Wednesday.

Fletcher stated the pressure on his spouse and household was insufferable.

“A mixture of my private errors plus false accusations has created a burden that my household should not should bear,” he stated.

Fletcher is married to Lorena Gonzalez, the previous state Meeting member who’s now chief officer of the California Labor Federation.

The lawsuit was filed by a lady who claims Fletcher kissed and groped her in opposition to her will, and stalked her on social media, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

The accuser labored on the county’s Metropolitan Transit System from 2019 till she was terminated final month. Fletcher was chair of the system’s board of administrators from 2019 till he resigned Tuesday.
