China Threatens Response if U.S. Home Speaker Meets Taiwan President
(Reuters) – China threatened to retaliate on Wednesday if U.S. Home Speaker Kevin McCarthy meets Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen throughout her deliberate transit of the USA, saying any such transfer can be a “provocation”.
Tsai is because of depart on Wednesday for a visit to Guatemala and Belize that can see her transit by way of New York and Los Angeles.
Sources have stated she plans to satisfy McCarthy in the course of the California transit though there was no official affirmation.
