Cravin’ the Hunter
Tommy Hunter pitched two innings of scoreless reduction with two strikeouts within the Mets’ 5-2 exhibition loss to the Astros in Port St. Lucie.
The veteran reliever, who is likely to open the season with the Mets, hasn’t allowed an earned run in his six appearances this spring.
Pham-ished
Tommy Pham’s spring coaching drought continued with an 0-for-3 efficiency with two strikeouts. Pham, who began in heart discipline, is batting .154 within the Grapefruit League.
Caught my eye
Jimmy Yacabonis, who’s vying for a bullpen job, had his first tough outing of the spring, permitting two runs on two hits and two walks within the fifth inning.
