Tyson Walker, Michigan State upset No. 2 Marquette in NCAA Event

The Tom Izzo-led squad upended No. 2 seeded Marquette within the Spherical of 32, reaching their first Candy 16 since 2019 by defeating the Massive East champion Golden Eagles 69-60 on Sunday.
The upset was led by New York native and Christ the King Excessive Faculty alum Tyson Walker, who scored a game-high 23 factors, together with 9 of the group’s last 11 factors to seal the victory.
The spirited effort from Walker arrives simply two days after he helped maintain USC’s leading scorer Boogie Ellis to just six points in the opening round on Friday.
Walker and the Spartans will tackle fellow New York native Markquis Nowell (27 factors) and No. 3 seeded Kansas State, who toppled No. 6 Kentucky earlier in the afternoon.
This shall be Michigan State’s fifteenth Candy 16 underneath Izzo.
