5 Connecticut Youngsters, Ages 8-17, Lifeless After New York Crash


SCARSDALE, N.Y. (AP) — 5 youngsters from Connecticut, ranging in age from eight to 17, had been killed in a fiery early morning crash Sunday on a New York freeway, police mentioned.

Police consider the car was being pushed by a 16-year-old boy when it veered off the Hutchinson River Parkway in Scarsdale, hit a tree and caught hearth. A 9-year-old boy, the sixth individual within the Nissan Rogue, was the one survivor, in line with an announcement offered by Kieran O’Leary, spokesperson for the Westchester County Police Division.

The 9-year-old was “apparently using within the rear hatchback/cargo space and escaped out the rear,” in line with the assertion. The boy was taken to the hospital with accidents that weren’t life-threatening.
