China Condemns British Lawmakers for Ignoring Demand To not Go to Taiwan
BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s embassy in Britain on Sunday condemned a go to this week by British lawmakers to Taiwan, saying they had been insisting on visiting the island regardless of China’s sturdy opposition.
Taiwan’s Presidential Workplace stated the group of six lawmakers from the British-Taiwanese All-Occasion Parliamentary Group would meet President Tsai Ing-wen in Taipei on Monday.
China views democratically ruled Taiwan as its personal territory and has been ramping up navy, political and financial stress to say these claims.
An announcement from China’s embassy in London stated that the lawmakers have “insisted on visiting the Taiwan area of China regardless of China’s resolute opposition”.
It is a “gross interference in China’s inner affairs and a severe mistaken sign to Taiwan independence separatist forces,” the embassy stated.

“We need to inform the related British politicians that any act that harms China’s pursuits will certainly be vigorously countered by China,” it added, with out elaborating.
Taiwan repeatedly hosts visiting overseas lawmakers, which China routinely condemns.
Taiwan’s authorities rejects China’s sovereignty claims, saying solely Taiwan’s individuals can determine their future.
