Saquon Barkley wears his Giants jersey at Rangers-Islanders NHL Stadium Series game with future uncertain

Saquon Barkley may not be a Giant next season, but he was still at MetLife Stadium Sunday.

The running back was with several of his Giants teammates, as well as some Jets, for the Rangers-Islanders NHL Stadium Series game played outside at the Meadowlands.

Barkley, whose future with the Giants remains uncertain as the NFL offseason approaches, was on a stage near the ice prior to the game, along with wide receiver Sterling Shepard, who has likely played his last game as a Giant as he moves toward free agency, and quarterback Tommy DeVito.

For the Jets, running back Breece Hall, linebacker C.J. Mosley and defensive linemen Quinnen Williams and Solomon Thomas were in attendance.

Barkley, who turned 27 earlier this month, just finished his sixth season after being drafted by the Giants with the second overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

His future with the team is cloudy in part due to the fact that the team decided to place the franchise tag on the running back a year ago, while signing quarterback Daniel Jones to a four-year, $160 million contract — of which only the first two years were guaranteed.

Jones, after he and Barkley helped guide the Giants to the postseason a year ago, was in the midst of a disappointing year when he suffered a season-ending ACL injury.

Barkley played 14 games and rushed for 962 yards and six touchdowns — and caught 41 passes for 280 yards and four TDs — this past season.

The Giants could use the franchise tag again on Barkley, which would be about $12.1 million, or allow him to test the free agent market.

That decision is due by March 5.

“They know where I want to be,” Barkley said of Giants’ ownership during an interview with The Post’s Ryan Dunleavy during Super Bowl week in Las Vegas earlier this month. “Ownership said they want me to be a Giant for life, too. Last year, we tried our best at the end. Business happened, and we didn’t get it done.”
