Squad Rep. Jamaal Bowman praises ‘antisemite’ Norman Finkelstein who said Hamas Oct 7 massacre ‘warms every fiber of my soul’

Rep. Jamaal Bowman offered high praise to a longtime Israel hater who has celebrated Hamas terrorism in Israel.
Bowman introduced Norman Finkelstein at a panel discussion in Westchester County on the Israel-Hamas war last Sunday and gushed that he was “a bit starstruck” because he “watched him all the time on YouTube.”
Finkelstein is a deeply divisive figure in the Jewish community. His 2000 book “The Holocaust Industry” accused Jews of exploiting the memory of the Nazis to promote Israel.
In 2007 he was denied tenure at DePaul University amid accusations of antisemitism.
On the day of Hamas’ Oct 7 terrorist attack in Israel which left at least 1,200 dead, Finkelstein lauded the “heroic resistance in Gaza,” and compared Hamas’ actions to the Jewish Warsaw Ghetto uprising in World War II.
During the mass slaughter Hamas terrorists committed mass rape and decapitated babies.
“It warms every fiber of my soul,” Finkelstein declared on his Substack. “The scenes of Gaza’s smiling children as their arrogant Jewish supremacist oppressors have, finally, been humbled.”
In his own fiery speech Sunday, first reported by Jewish Insider, Bowman accused the United States of funding “mass murder and mass starvation of the people of Gaza,” and accused “powerful lobbies” of intimidating lawmakers into silence.
“No one is telling the truth,” Bowman thundered. “The fact that you all have put together this incredible panel to tell us the truth about what has been happening there for 75 years is incredibly important for this community. We have fed ourselves a myth and a lie and propaganda as facts, and truth and knowledge, and as a result of that, people are consistently dying and being slaughtered and killed, mostly women and children.”
Alan Dershowitz — a longtime Finkelstein critic — called him a “known antisemite” adding he was not surprised to see Bowman consorting with him.
“Finkelstein is the equivalent of a Ku Klux Klan member who advocated the lynching of blacks. Finkelstein has advocated the lynching of Jews,” Dershowitz said. “Shame on Bowman for his complicity with antisemitism, but I am not surprised. Bowman has been a part of the problem for a long time. Not a part of the solution.”
Bowman was caught on tape pulling the fire alarm in the Cannon House Office Building in late September, shortly before the House was scheduled to vote on a government funding bill. The building was subsequently evacuated and he was charged with a misdemeanor.
