Davante Adams mocks hubbub around Raiders turmoil: ‘Worried about the wrong s–t’

Davante Adams seemed to be in a fun mood despite all of the turmoil in Las Vegas this week.
The star Raiders wideout on Thursday afternoon was playing with a mini basketball in the team’s locker room when he stopped himself to take a funny shot at his team’s critics.
With a smile, Adams said, “Hey, get ready for this, I’m calling it now, ‘This is why they’re losing because they’re worried about the wrong s–t,’” he said in a mocking voice imitating pundits.
“‘They’re playing basketball, f–king run the right route, catch the ball.’”
As he finished his jabs, he took a shot with the mini ball and sank a perfect swish.
“Catch that s–t,” Adams added for emphasis after hitting the bucket.
To say that it’s been a tumultuous week in Las Vegas would be underselling things.
The team lost on “Monday Night Football” to the Lions to finish Week 8 and then proceeded to fire head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler as the team skidded to a 3-5 start.
This came after a buildup in which both players became upset and owner Mark Davis became “volatile and angry” over the team’s lackluster performance.
Adams himself had been at the center of the team’s discontent, showing his visible frustration on the field by slamming his helmet down on the sideline after quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo missed him on a wide-open pass.
With the Raiders floundering, Adams became at the center of trade rumors — including a target of the Jets, as The Post’s Brian Costello reported — but he was not moved before the Oct. 31 deadline.
According to CBS Sports, at least one team was “ghosted” by the Raiders in potential trade talks as the turmoil in the organization hit a boiling point.
“Explains why they ghosted us … Nobody responded yesterday,” one team told CBS Sports NFL insider Josina Anderson.
Adams, still in Las Vegas, gets a chance to help turn things around with interim coach Antonio Pierce on Sunday when the Raiders take on the Giants.
