Jets stand pat at NFL trade deadline after Carl Lawson, Dalvin Cook speculation

The trade deadline passed Tuesday with the Jets standing pat.
There had been speculation in recent weeks that the Jets would try to acquire a wide receiver or offensive lineman, but nothing developed.
There also had been talk of the Jets trading away edge rusher Carl Lawson or running back Dalvin Cook, but there was no interest in either player.
The Jets made one minor move, signing veteran guard Rodger Saffold to the practice squad.
The 35-year-old veteran played 16 games for the Bills last season and was an alternate for the Pro Bowl.
The team is thin on the interior of the offensive line after injuries to Connor McGovern (knee) and Wes Schweitzer (calf) on Sunday that put them on injured reserve.

They lost Alijah Vera-Tucker (Achilles) earlier this season.
At wide receiver, the Jets played undrafted rookies Xavier Gipson and Jason Brownlee on Sunday and elevated Malik Taylor from the practice squad with Randall Cobb sidelined by a shoulder injury.
