Gracie Hunt’s Mamba “mindset” didn’t sit well with some fans.
Hunt, the daughter of Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, took to Instagram and Twitter to share her most recent Kobe-inspired photoshoot.
“Mindset is everything…make it Mamba,” Hunt captioned the leggy photos.
Hunt’s audience had mixed reviews about the post, finding the heeled pictures either disrespectful to the late NBA legend or a touching tribute to what he taught his fans.
“Mamba Mentality” is a phrase coined by the late Kobe Bryant, meaning putting in the work to be the best version of yourself.
One user on X could not understand how the former Miss Kansas USA could relate at all to the lifestyle Bryant intended the mentality to benefit.
“Yes all mindset and nothing to do with makeup, photography, and hours of prep, to take pictures of yourself of all things,” one user wrote to X. “I wonder how many times Kobe – in the pursuit of inspirational greatness, decided his great achievement of the day would be to post pictures of himself.”
“More stripper pictures from Gracie,” a user responded on X. “Do something meaningful please”
Some users questioned whether Hunt needed a “Mamba Mentality” given the Hunt’s family fortune.
“Mamba mentality and granddaddy’s dollars,” one X user wrote.
On Instagram, users were quick to use similar arguments against Hunt.
“Easy with daddy’s money,” the user wrote.
However, some of Hunt’s followers jumped to her defense.
“A great tribute to Kobe Bryant,” one user wrote on X in her defense. “I don’t understand why there are so many haters. They need to get their own lives.”
Despite online haters telling Hunt to “do something with her riches,” Hunt has made a name for herself in the sports philanthropy world.
Hunt serves as a Unified Champion Ambassador for the Special Olympics and is the founder of her own philanthropic organization, Breaking Barriers Through Sports.
