Two people were seriously injured after an electrical fire broke out in an Atlanta high-rise that houses a Democratic senator’s office Saturday afternoon.
Atlanta Police were called to 271 17th St. in the Atlantic Station neighborhood following reports of a possible explosion in the building where Sen. Jon Ossoff’s office is located along with law firms and residences.
The senator has not publicly addressed the incident.
An electrical contractor working on the 15th floor suffered a “severe electrical shock” and two people were hospitalized, fire officials told 11 Alive.
The building is across the street from Overtime Elite Arena and near a Hilton hotel.
The Post has contacted the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department for comment.
